Ministry of Agriculture AGRICULTURE SECTOR MODERNIZATION PROJECT RECRUITMENT OF PROJECT STAFF (Project Management Unit - Colombo

The Ministry of Agriculture with the financial assistance of the International Development Agency (IDA) of the World Bank is implementing the Agriculture Sector Modernization Project in line with the Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) to support smallholder farmers to produce competitive and marketable commodities, improve their ability to cater to market requirements and move towards increased commercialization. The remaining period for the project implementation period is about 2 years and the estimated cost of the project is US$ 92.23 million (World Bank loan of US$ 64.23 plus EU grant of US$ 28.0 million). 

Applications are invited from the citizens of Sri Lanka with the below mentioned qualifications and experience to fill the following position of the Project Management Unit (PMU) in Colombo as per the Management Services Circular No.01/2019 of 05.03.2019. 

01. Deputy Project Director (PS 2) - 01 Post (Colombo) 

Required Qualifications 

I. A Successfully completed Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Management, Business Administration or equivalent qualification to the degree in the relevant field which is recognized by the University Grants Commission

Or 

An Associate Membership/ A similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized professional institution in the relevant field

With

At least 11 years post qualifying experience in Managerial Level out of which 05 years should be in the Senior Managerial Level 

II.A Successfully completed Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Management, Business Administration

or

equivalent qualification to the degree in the relevant field which is recognized by the University Grants Commission   

And

Cooperate / Chartered membership / A similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized professional institution in the relevant field

Or

A Postgraduate Degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Management, Business Administration, or equivalent field with least 09 years post qualifying experience in Managerial Level out of which 04 years should be in the Senior Managerial Level 

III.  A Successfully completed Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Management, Business Administration

Or

An equivalent qualification to the degree in the relevant field which is recognized by the University Grants Commission  

And

Post Graduate Degree in the relevant field 

And

Cooperate /Chartered membership / A similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized professional institution in the relevant field

With

at least 07 Years post qualifying experience in Managerial Level out of which 03 years should be in the Senior Managerial Level. 

 IV. Grade I officer of a Government All Island Services or a similar status in the relevant field, with at least 04 years' experience in the Grade I post. 

 
03. Common to both positions 

->Experience in Foreign Funded Projects is advantageous and experience in World Bank  funded projects is preferred. 

->Competency in Computer literacy is essential

->Candidates above 64 years of age on the closing date of applications are not eligible to apply.

Method of Selection : Shortlisted applicants based on qualifications and experience will be called for an interview. 

Salary Scale : Salary is based on the Management Services Circular No.01/2019 of 05.03.2019
