CLIMATE SMART IRRIGATED AGRICULTURE PROJECT (CSIAP)

MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE

Recruitment of Project Staff

The Climate Smart Irrigated Agriculture Project (CSIAP) implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Funded by the World Bank is for a period of 5 years (2019 to 2024). The objective of the Project is to improve the agriculture productivity via improving climate resilience agriculture in climatically vulnerable hotspot areas identified in six provinces namely North Western, North Central, Eastern, Northern, Southern and Uva. The estimated cost of the project is USD 125 Mn.

Applications are invited from citizens of Sri Lanka for following posts in the project on contract basis. The applicants should possess the following qualification and experience given under each category.

Project Accountant – (PS 4)2 Positions -North Western Province

Qualification (a) or (b) below. 

(a) A successfully completed Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, which is recognized by the University Grants Commission or a qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission as an equivalent qualification to the degree in Accounting or Finance or an Associate membership/ a similar professional qualification obtained from the recognized professional institution in Accounting or Finance with at least 08 years post-qualifying experience in the relevant field.

(b) An officer of the Government All Island Services Class III/II or above or similar status in the relevant field with at least 08 years of experience in Class III/II post.

A brief job Description : The concerned candidate should be familiar with Government Accounting System, Assets Management and Stores Management. The candidate with experience in World Bank and/or MDB funded projects will be given preference.

Additional Requirement for the all above posts.

1. Experience in Government Auditing Practice and establishment and maintenance of proper financial, auditing and controlling system according to the GOSA procedure.

2. Working experience as an ‘Auditor’ in a foreign funded projects is preferable

3. Computer Literacy

4. Proficiency in English

 General Conditions:

a. Age Limit Less than Sixty-three (63) years of age on the closing date of application

b. Conditions of Employment All appointments will be initially for a period of one year and extension of services will be based on successful performance. Employees are required to travel to project sites depending on the need.

c. Salary Salary for each position will be based on the Management Services Circular No. 01/2019 dated 05th March 2019.

d. Interview: Shortlisted applicants based on qualifications and experience will be called for a face to face or virtual interview.
