Ministry of Urban Development & Housing Strategic Cities Development Programme Anuradhapura Integrated Urban Development Project (AFD Assisted)

VACANCIES

Strategic Cities Development Programme is an urban development initiative set up under the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing with the objective of improving the urban infrastructure, services, mobility, traffic & transport facilities, upgrading of public urban spaces and institutional capacity development of the stakeholders in the selected cities enabling them to effectively manage assets developed through the investment of the programme. The programme aims to bring about transformations of the city regions through strategic investments by leveraging on the city/city region’s particular cultural and economic assets.

The Programme is supported by the World Bank and French Development Agency (AFD)and it is currently operational in Kandy, Galle and Jaffna under the World Bank credit facilities and Anuradhapura Integrated Urban Development Project is supported by the AFD. The Urban Development Authority is currently functioning as the Project Implementing Agency.

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified, dynamic and committed candidates for the posts of Civil Engineer, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Technical Officer, Draftsman and Environment Officer of Anuradhapura Integrated Urban Development Project.

Qualifications and experience applicable to the positions are as follows :

Civil Engineer - 01 (Anuradhapura PIU)

Qualifications

(1) A Bachelor's Degree in the relevant field which is recognized by the UGC or an associate membership/similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized Professional Institute in the relevant field with at least 07years post qualifying experience.

 (2) An Officer of the Govt. all island services class 111/11 or above or similar status in the relevant field with at least 07 years’ experience in class 111/11 post

Salary scale and general conditions:

Salaries are based on the Management Services Circular No. 01/2019 of 15.03.2019 and other relevant Management Services Circulars.

 Applicants should be citizens of Sri Lanka and should not be more than 64 years of age.

Terms and Conditions of Service:

Government servants will be recruited on transfer basis and persons outside the government service will be recruited on contract basis.

 The contract basis appointments will be initially for a period of one year.

 Method of selection:

 Shortlisted applicants based on the qualifications and experience will be called for an interview.
