VACANCIES

Mahaweli Water Security Investment Program (MWSIP) 

Funding Source:  Asian Development Bank (ADB)

 

The Mahaweli Water Security Investment Program is a part of the Master Plan of the Mahaweli Multi -Purpose Development Program implemented by the Ministry of Irrigation with concessional loan facility by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Sri Lanka, which is expected to be completed by the year 2024. Applications: Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified citizens of Sri Lanka for the following positions on Contract Basis, and the applicants are requested to forward their applications together with their Curriculum Vitae along with two non-related referees and copies of the certificates of educational, professional qualifications and experience under Registered post on or before 01.12.2021 to reach the address given below, and indicate the post applied for on the top left -hand corner of the envelope. 1. Director (SIWRM) Program Management Unit - Colombo - 01 Post

 

(PS-2) Job Profile Strengthen the Integrated water resource management principles nationally by recommending and developing guidelines for water sector policies, legislations and benchmarking of key water sector institutions, recommendations to improve the institutionalization of IWRM.

Analysis of climate change impacts and its effect on water management. Identifying water demands, management and major water users including the environment to ensure the availability of constant water flow.

Design, develop and implementation of a decision support system with updating and modernizing the Water Management Secretariat for IWRM.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

A  Successfully completed Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Civil Engineering which is recognized by the University Grants Commission.

Or

A  Qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission as an equivalent Qualification to the Degree in the field of Civil Engineering

 Or 

An Associate Membership/ A similar Professional Qualification obtained from a recognized Institution in the Field of Civil Engineering With A t least 15 years post qualifying experience at Managerial Level out of which 07 years should be in the Senior Managerial Level.

 

 2.  A Successfully completed Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Civil Engineering which is recognized by the University Grants Commission

Or

A  Qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission as an equivalent Qualification to the Degree in the field of Civil Engineering And  Corporate / Chartered Membership or a similar Professional Qualification obtained from a recognized Professional Institution in the  field of Civil Engineering 

Or

A  Postgraduate Degree in the field of Civil Engineering with at least 13 years post qualifying experience at Managerial Level out of which 06 years should be in the Senior Managerial Level.

 

 

3. A  Successfully completed Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Civil Engineering which is recognized by the University Grants Commission

Or

A  Qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission as an equivalent Qualification to the Degree in the field of Civil Engineering And A Postgraduate Degree in the field of Civil Engineering

And 

Cooperate / Chartered Membership or a similar Professional Qualification obtained from a recognized Professional Institution in the field of Civil Engineering With A t least 11 years post qualifying experience at Managerial Level out of which 05 years should be in the Senior Managerial Level. 

 

 

4.  Grade 1 Officer of Sri Lanka Engineering Service or a similar status in the field of Civil Engineering With At least 06 years of experience in the Grade 1 post

 

 Salary Level: PS-2 - Rs. 185,000.00 – Rs. 205,000.0

 

*Cost of living allowance will be paid in addition to the salaries specified above as per MSD Circular No. 01/2019.

 

General Conditions:

1. Applicants should be below 64 years of age.

2. All officers are expected to perform their duties in liaison and coordination activities with relevant Government Organizations and other agencies.

3. Work experience in foreign funded projects in Sri Lanka will be an added advantage.

 4. Proficiency in English, familiarity with government regulations and computer literacy are essential prerequisites for these posts. 5. Employment contracts are for One year, renewable annually based on performance and the requirement of the programs/ projects. 6.
