Ministry of Urban Development & Housing Strategic Cities Development Programme Anuradhapura Integrated Urban Development Project (AFD Assisted)

VACANCIES

Strategic Cities Development Programme is an urban development initiative set up under the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing with the objective of improving the urban infrastructure, services, mobility, traffic & transport facilities, upgrading of public urban spaces and institutional capacity development of the stakeholders in the selected cities enabling them to effectively manage assets developed through the investment of the programme. The programme aims to bring about transformations of the city regions through strategic investments by leveraging on the city/city region’s particular cultural and economic assets.

The Programme is supported by the World Bank and French Development Agency (AFD)and it is currently operational in Kandy, Galle and Jaffna under the World Bank credit facilities and Anuradhapura Integrated Urban Development Project is supported by the AFD. The Urban Development Authority is currently functioning as the Project Implementing Agency.

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified, dynamic and committed candidates for the posts of Civil Engineer, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Technical Officer, Draftsman and Environment Officer of Anuradhapura Integrated Urban Development Project.

Qualifications and experience applicable to the positions are as follows :

Technical Officer- 04 (Anuradhapura PIU)

Qualifications

(1) A Bachelor's Degree in the relevant field which is recognized by the UGC or having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below than the National Vocational Qualification Level 7 issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission for a post related to the relevant field and at least 02 years’ experience in the required area of specialization.

(2) Having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below than the National Vocational Qualification Level 6, issued by a Technical / Vocational Training institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission for a post related to technical field and at least 07 years experience in the required area of specialization.

(3) Having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below than the National Vocational Qualification level 5, issued by a Technical / Vocational Training Institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission for a post related to technical field and at least 12 years’ experience in the required area of specialization.

Note : Environment Officer – Degree in the relevant field is essential Technical Officer – Those who possess higher qualifications could be considered for the placement in PS 05 level 

Salary scale and general conditions:

Salaries are based on the Management Services Circular No. 01/2019 of 15.03.2019 and other relevant Management Services Circulars.

 Applicants should be citizens of Sri Lanka and should not be more than 64 years of age.

Terms and Conditions of Service:

Government servants will be recruited on transfer basis and persons outside the government service will be recruited on contract basis.

 The contract basis appointments will be initially for a period of one year.

 Method of selection:
