Technical Officer vacancy at Colombo Municipal Council

Job Description

Applications are called hereby to obtain the service of Technical Officers & Draughtsmen on procurement of Service basis on daily pay to Municipal Council.

1. Post : To obtain  the service of Technical Officers procurement of service basis

2. Salary Scale :  Rs. 2,200.00 per day

3. Physical Fitness :  Should be with sufficient physical & mental wellbeing to perform duties of the post. 

4. Other Qualifications :

(i) Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.

(ii)  Should be retired Technical Officers and Technical Officers (Draughtsman Service) in the Public Service & Provincial Public Service of the Western Province and should be eligible for Class III as per the Technical Service construction of Sri Lanka.

(iii)  Successful completion of National Diploma in Technology offered by University of Moratuwa or Hardy Advanced Technological Institute, Ampara.                          

or

(iv) National Diploma in Engineering Science offered by National Apprentice & Technical Training Authority.     

or

(v) Higher National Diploma in Engineering offered by Ministry of Education & Higher Education. 

or

(vi) One year full time Draughtsman course in a recognized institution.

(vii)  Should have completed National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 06 relevant to the field of employment.

(viii)  Should have obtained other technical qualifications recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission as equivalent in all respects to the above technical qualifications after consulting the Ministry of Higher Education and the above technical certificate institutes.

(ix) Should have an excellent character 

(x) Should have completed all the required qualifications by the closing date of applications. 

(xi)  Awareness of Building & Planning Regulations of Urban Development Authority, knowledge on IT techniques is an added qualification.

5. Recruitment procedure:
Retired Technical Officers in the Public Service and Provincial Public Service of the Western Province and officers who qualify for Class III in accordance with the Sri Lanka Technical Service constitution are recruited subject to the following conditions.

1. Service will be obtained after an interview. 

2. Minimum 08 hours service period per day.

3. Should engage in duties full time 

4. Payment of Rs.55,000/- per person for one working month (25 days) including weekends.

The final decision on obtaining the relevant services rests with the Municipal Commissioner
