Faculty of Engineering

01) Computer Centre

Lecturer (Probationary)/ Lecturer (Unconfirmed)/ Senior Lecturer Grade II/ I

Applications are entertained from the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) 

or

Bachelor of Engineering (B.Sc. Eng.) graduate in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or ICT.

Postgraduate qualifications as stipulated in the relevant circulars are required qualifications for Lecturer (unconfirmed) and Senior Lecturer Gr. II/I.

Preference will be given to those who have experience in developing web based applications, knowledge of multiple front-end technologies (e.g. HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery, PHP), knowledge of Java and related frameworks such as Spring boot, Spring JPA and Hibernate etc., familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB) and web servers (tomcat, jetty, wildfly), and familiarity with UI/UX design. Knowledge on developing online course materials, technology-enabled teaching, Moodle LMS administration and basic knowledge on Windows and Linux server management will be an added advantage.

02) Department  of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Lecturer (Probationary), Lecturer (Unconfirmed)/ Senior Lecturer Grade II/ I

Applications are entertained from graduates with the Bachelor of the Science of Engineering specialized in Electrical and / or Electronic Engineering for the above posts.

Postgraduate qualifications as stipulated in the relevant circulars is a required qualification for the Senior Lecturer Gr.II/I posts. Candidates should have a postgraduate degree in the relevant field listed under essential qualifications. The relevant fields are:

1.     Telecommunication / Wireless communication / Optical Communication Engineering

2.     Digital Communication/ Data Communication Engineering

3.     RF/, Microwave, Millimeter wave communication

4.     Nanoelectronics

5.     Industrial Electronics

6.     Integrated Electronics/ VLSI

7.     High Voltage Engineering

8.     Bio Instrumentation/ Bio Mechanics

9.     Digital / Computer Systems / Quantum Computing

10.   Information Engineering / AI / Data Science

Postdoctoral experience in foreign industries and / or practical experience during the postgraduate research will be qualifications.

Candidates with experience in undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum development, laboratory establishment and building research teams in new areas will be at advantage. Proven ability to develop and work on international collaborations and the ability to work in teams, experience in commercialization and entrepreneurship will also be added qualifications.

03) Department  of Mechanical Engineering

Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Applications are entertained from graduates with B.Sc. Engineering degree who have specialized in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. The applicants must fulfil qualifications as stipulated in the UGC circular Nos. 916, 04/2014 and establishments circular letter Nos. 04/2010, 12/2019 & 08/2021.

Lecturer (Probationary), Lecturer (Unconfirmed)/ Senior Lecturer Grade II/ I

• The Department is especially looking for candidates who hold a B.Sc. Engineering degree with specialization in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• For the post of Lecturer (Unconfirmed)/ Senior Lecturer Grade II/I, preference will be given to those who have relevant postgraduate qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Graduates with a B.Sc. Engineering degree who have specialised in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or closely related fields with postgraduate qualifications in the areas of Mechatronics, Bio-mechanics or Bio-Medical Engineering will also be considered for Senior Lecturer Grade II/I

Remuneration and other benefits

( i). Remuneration

Lecturer (Prob.) {(U-AC 3(IV))} Rs.54,600 – 10x1335 – 67,950 p.m.

Lecturer (Unconfirmed){(U-AC 3(III))}Rs.69,580 –  5x1630 – 77,730 p.m.

Snr. Lecturer Gr.II Rs.79,360 – 11x1630 – 97,290 p.m.

Snr. Lecturer Gr.I Rs.91,310 – 7x2170 – 106,500 p.m.

Associate Professor {(U-AC 4} Rs.102,160 – 13x2170 – 130,370 p.m.

Professor {(U-AC 5(II)} Rs.117,350 – 13x2700 – 152,450 p.m.

In addition to the above salaries, the following allowances will be paid considering the Basic Salary

(I) Cost of Living Allowance, (Currently Rs.7800.00 p.m.)

(II) Academic Allowance,

   Lecturer (Probationary)/-  115% of the Basic Salary p.m.

   Lecturer (Unconfirmed)- 131%            do

   Snr. Lecturer Gr.II- 151%            do

   Snr. Lecturer Gr.I- 151%            do

   Associate Professor- 157%            do

   Professor- 162%            do

(III)    Research Allowance-  35% of the Basic Salary p.m.

( IV)   Additional Monthly Allowance - 20% of the Basic Salary p.m.

(ii). Other Benefits

*        Entitlement to Sabbatical Leave, Study Leave, Conference Leave, and Special Leave as and   when applicable.

*        Loan facilities.

*        University quarters will be provided subject to availability.

*        Air tickets for teacher and spouse when travelling on sabbatical leave

Provident Fund & Pension Fund

Permanent employees of the University are required to contribute 10% of their monthly salary to the Universities Provident Fund and the University contributes a sum equivalent to 18% of their monthly salary of which 8% will be credited to the Universities Pension Fund, 7% to the Universities Provident Fund (UPF) and 3% to the Employees' Trust Fund (ETF).

How to apply

(I)  Use downloaded applications & format of referee reports only

(II) The post applied for should be clearly mentioned in the application (one post only)

(III)The post applied for should be marked on the top left-hand corner of the envelope.

(IV) The candidates who apply for more than one post should submit separate applications under separate cover for each post.
