Job Description

UNIVERSITY OF COLOMBO SRI LANKA VACANCIES 

The University of Colombo will entertain applications from suitably qualified persons for the following Contract Posts up to 15th October 2021.

02. PROJECT ASSISTANT (ON CONTRACT) - 01 POST 

Qualification / Experience:

 (I) Should have passed G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six subjects at one and the same sitting with credit passes in:- 

i) Sinhala/Tamil 

ii) English Language/English Literature 

iii) Mathematics AND 

(II) Pass in all subjects at G.C.E. (A/L) examination (other than the common general paper) at one and the same sitting with eight (8) years of experience in Local or Foreign funded construction Projects in a recognized establishment. 

Salary : Rs. 50,000 per month including Rs.7,800/- as cost of living allowance.

Age : Not more than 45 years.

General Conditions for on contract basis posts:

• The appointment will be on contract basis initially for a period of one (01) year and the period of contract will be renewable subject to annual performance of the selected person during the period of contract and the requirement of the University.
• The selected candidate will be a member of the Employees Provident Fund. He/ She will contribute 8% of his/her monthly salary to the Employees Provident Fund and at the same time the employer will make a total contribution of 12% of his/her salary to the Employees Provident Fund. Three percent (3%) of the salary will be contributed by the University to the Employees’ Trust Fund in terms of the provisions of the Employees’ Trust Fund Act, No. 46 of 1980.
• The other conditions of appointment will be in accordance with the provisions of the University Act No. 16 of 1978, Universities and its amendments.
