VACANCY

POST OF SCIENTIFIC ASSISTANT (PERMANENT) 

The Postgraduate Institute of Science, University of Peradeniya will entertain applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Scientific Assistant. 

Qualifications : 

A First or Second Class (Upper Division) in a Special Degree/Honors Degree Examination in the relevant subject.

                                               OR 

A Second Class(Lower Division)in a Special Degree/Honors Degree Examination in the relevant subject.

                                               OR 

A Pass in the B.A./B.Sc. Special Degree/Honors Degree Examination in the relevant subject.

                                               OR  

A Pass in the B.A./ B.Sc .General Degree Examination with recognized postgraduate qualification in the relevant subject.  

Age - Not more than 40 years.

*Chemistry/Physics/Statistics/Computer Science/Computer Engineering 

Preference would be given to those with experience in carrying out research work in these areas.

Salary Scale : Rs.41,095- 18x660 - 52,975/=p.m.[U AS1(II)]

Other benefits applicable to the post : 

I. Provident Fund and Contributory Pension Scheme 

10% and 7% of the salary by the employee and employer respectively, will be credited to the Universities Provident Fund. 8% of the salary will be credited to the Pension Fund by the employer.

II. Employees Trust Fund

3% of the salary by the employer. 

III. Gratuity

Payment of Gratuity will be in accordance with the provisions of the Payment of Gratuity Act. No.12 of 1983.
