SABARAGAMUWA UNIVERSITY OF SRI LANKA VACANCIES

Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka will entertain applications for the undermentioned posts from suitably qualified persons up to 31.12.2021.

1. FACULTY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES Department of Export Agriculture

Temporary Research Assistant - (01 No.)

Special Note : Candidates must be qualified with BSc. Honors Degree in Agricultural Sciences. Preference will be given to the candidates with experience in editorial work of a journal, symposia, conference proceedings and coordinating experience in academia and research related to Agriculture sector

Candidates for this post are requested to mention 'Editorial work and allied duties' as the Discipline of the prescribed application.

Candidates should be able to accept the appointment for a maximum period of 2 years.

ii. Post : 

Temporary Research Assistant - (01 No.)

 

Special Note : Candidates must be qualified with BSc. Honors Degree in Agricultural Sciences.

 

Preference will be given to the candidates who have the ability and experience in interacting and liaison with industries related to Agriculture sector; coordinating students' industrial placements and training projects; organizing students' presentation events; conducting job fairs with external stakeholders both national and international

Candidates for this post are requested to mention 'Industrial Training and Project Coordination' as the Discipline of the prescribed application.

Candidates should be able to accept the appointment for a maximum period of 2 years.

 

Salary Scale

Temporary Research Assistant Rs. 49,860 p.m. (Fixed) [U-AC 2 - 2016]

 

BENEFITS :

Appointees to the permanent posts are required to contribute 10% of their monthly salary to the Universities Provident Fund, the University in turn contributes a sum equivalent to 8% to the Universities Pension Fund, 7% to the Universities Provident Fund (UPF) and 3% to the Employees Trust Fund (ETF).

Appointees to the temporary posts will contribute 10% of their monthly salary to the UPF, the University in turn contributes a sum equivalent to 15% to the UPF and 3% to the ETF.

In addition to the above salary, Cost of Living Allowance, Academic Allowance, Research & Development Allowance and other due allowances approved by the University Grants Commission will also be paid to the staff where relevant.

The appointees for Senior Lecturer Gr. I, Senior Lecturer Gr. II, Lecturer (Unconfirmed) and Lecturer (Probationary) are entitled to Academic Allowance of 151%, 151%, 131% & and 115% of the basic salary of their posts respectively.

 

SABBATICAL LEAVE : All appointees to the posts of Senior Lecturer Gr. II and above are entitled for one year Sabbatical Leave with pay once in every seven years of service and as per the provisions of relevant UGC Circulars, Air Passage will be paid by the University to the Teacher and his/her spouse when proceeding abroad on such leave.

 

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE : Selected candidates if presently serving in Government Departments will have to obtain his/her release through their respective appointing authority. Government employees will not be entitled to maintain their pension rights whilst in the University Service.

Box 02, Belihuloya on or before 31.12.2021.
