Job Description

NOTICE POST OF DIRECTOR/ RESEARCH THE OPEN UNIYERSITY OF SRI LANKA

Applications are invited from the Permanent Internal Academic Staff Members of the category of Senior Lecturer and above for the Post of Director Research of the Open University of Sri Lanka. The closing date for receipt of application is 07.05.2022. 

Responsibilities: 

1. To advice the Vice-Chancellor, in relation to the development of research culture within the University and any other activities that would enhance the research culture of the University. 

2. To recommend to the Vice-Chancellor, allocation of research funds and maintain the fund. 

3. To recommend to the Vice-Chancellor, allocation of University publication vote. 

4. To maintain data base on research and publication in the OUSL.

 5. To coordinate Faculty Research Committees. 

6. To organize University Annual Research Sessions. 

7. To organize workshops, seminars, publications to disseminate knowledge. 

8. To maintain the quality of research within the University. 

Qualifications: 

Postgraduate qualifications with good track record in research Conditions:

1 . The appointment will be made for a period of 01 year (extendable) 

2. The appointee will be required to carry out university regular activities in addition to his/her duties as Director of the Unit

3. The appointee will be paid an allowance of25% of the basic salary per month in addition to his/her normal emoluments.
