FEATURES EDITOR
The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL), widely known as Lake House, is the home and heart of print media in Sri Lanka. The country's pioneer print media institution has a history of over 100 years and 25 years of o n line publishing continues to occupy the number one spot in the print media industry.
We are see king an experienced Features Editor to oversee the features section of a daily English Newspaper and expand its readership.
Responsibilities & Skills required
• raising the profile o f the features section
• overseeing the layout, photo shoots, appearance and content of feature articles
• briefing and generating ideas for features with in-house as well as freelance writers.
• managing all writers
• editing articles
• understanding and complying with media law and industry ethical guidelines.
• proofreading the feature section before going to press
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and assisting other staff to meet their deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal and IT skills
•Creativity , confidence and organizational skills
• Determination and resilience
Qualifications & Experience
• A Degree in Journalism / Mass Communication from a recognized University and 5 years post qualifying experience at a reputed publication
Or
• A Diploma in Journalism / Mass Communication from a recognized University / Institute a nd 10 years post qualifying experience al a reputed publication.
