MANAGEMENT TRAINEE

Qualifications Required  

Candidates should be citizens of Sri Lanka

A graduate of a local or foreign University recognized by University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka with at least First Class / 2nd class Upper division degree or Grade Point Average (GPA) with a minimum of 3.5 out of a maximum of 4.0 points obtained in any of the following subjects/ disciplines: Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Accountancy, Banking, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Management (Public/Financial/Accountancy/Business), Marketing, Human Resources, Engineering, Computer Science, ICT, Law, International Business, Valuation, Agriculture, Physical Science or any other subject/discipline related to Banking & Finance.

OR

 A degree together with Post graduate qualification at Master’s or higher level, obtained from a local or foreign University recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka, in any of the abovementioned subjects/disciplines. 

OR 

Passed finalist of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL) or the Chartered Institute of Bankers – UK (CIB) together with a degree from a local or foreign university recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka relating to the abovementioned subjects / disciplines.

OR 

Full Qualification (passed finalist) of one of the following professional bodies 

(i) The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICA-SL)

(ii) The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA-UK) 

(iii) The Chartered Financial Analyst Programme of the CFA Institute (CFA-USA) 

(iv) The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of UK (CIMA-UK)

(v) The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICA-EW) 

(vi) The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA-SL)

(vii) The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM-UK) 

Other Attributes 

• The desire to achieve objectives of the Bank with a positive attitude
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Leadership qualities with problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a team
• Proficient in computer literacy
• Proficiency in English language and Sinhala/Tamil Language
• Should be prepared to serve in any part of the country as per the Bank’s requirement

Age

Age should be not less than 18 years and not more than 28 years as at the closing date of Applications. (Candidate shall be treated as having satisfied the qualifications relating to the age if his/her birth day falls on or before 08.11.2003 and on or after 08.11.1993)

Terms & Conditions 

• While the selected candidates should consent to serve in any part of the country, it is compulsory for them to serve a minimum of five years continuously including the training period in the District /Region where they will be initially attached to. 
• Candidates who are recruited under this scheme will be referred to a formal and comprehensive training covering all the aspects of banking on two year contract basis. Those who complete the two year period of training satisfactorily will be considered to be absorbed in the permanent cadre to the Grade of Assistant Manager (3-III).
• An all inclusive monthly allowance of Rs. 75,000 will be paid during the two year period of training
