Job Description

 WAYAMBA UNIVERSITY TOWNSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

WAYAMBA UNIVERSITY OF SRI LANKA

Applications are invited from qualified citizens of Sri Lanka for the below mentioned posts of Wayamba University Township Development Project implemented by Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education and Funded by the Government of Saudi Arabia and the Total Value of the Project is US$ 28 Million approximately. This Project has been established as a Project Management Unit in conformity with the provisions of the Circular No. 01/2019 dated 05/03/2019 and the relevant amendments issued by the Department of Management Services.

The basic qualifications required for the recruitment to the above posts and the general conditions applicable as per the Management Services Circular No. 01/2019 dated 05/03/2019 are as follows:

Project Officer (02 Posts), Procurement Officer (01 Post) - PS-6

Basic Qualifications required for above two posts shall be 01 or 02 or 03 below: 

(1) A Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field which is recognized by the University Grants Commission

or

 A qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission as an equivalent qualification to the Degree in the relevant field

or

 An Associate membership / A Similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized Professional Institution in the relevant field 

or 

Having obtained a Certificate of Proficiency not below than the National Vocational Qualification Level 7, issued by a Technical / Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission for a post related to Technical Field

and

At least one (01) year of experience in the required area of specialization.

(2) Having obtained a Certificate of Proficiency not below than the National Vocational Qualification Level 6, issued by a Technical / Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission for a post related to Technical Field and At least 06 years of experience in the required area of specialization.

(3) Having obtained a Certificate of Proficiency not below than the National Vocational Qualification Level 5, issued by a Technical / Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission for a post related to Technical field. and 

At least 11 years of experience in the required area of specialization.

General Conditions

It is compulsory to fulfill all the Basic Qualifications relevant to the post by each applicant on or before the final date of closing of applications. 

Age Limit : Should be less than 64 years of age

Salary Scale : The salary step applicable to the relevant position in terms of the Management Services Circular No. 01/2019 dated 05/03/2019 and relevant amendments and all the allowances approved by the Government as per the Management Services Circular No. 01/2019 dated 05/03/2019 will be paid. 

Service Conditions : Will be appointed initially for a period of one year on Contract Basis. It will be considered to extend the service period annually for a maximum of two more years considering the performance and the service requirement.

Other Benefits : The Employee shall contribute 8% and the Employer will contribute 12% of the Salary for the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) and the Employer will contribute 3% of the salary for the Employees’ Trust Fund (ETF).
