The Bank of Ceylon, premier state owned commercial bank ranked among the top 1000 global banks, top 500 largest banks in the Asia Pacific Region and No.1 in Sri Lanka, is looking for suitably qualified, experienced, dynamic and results oriented young persons to fill the post of :

Chartered Accountant – Associate Grade III( Probation )

Eligibility Criteria

â Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka .

â Qualifications and Experience :                           

o  Full professional membership of at least one of the following institutions :

- Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL)

-Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK (ACCA)    - Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW)  

o  Minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience in auditing/ accounting in a recognized institution   

o Preference will be given to those having experience in financial services sector . 

â Other Attributes   

o Familiarity with corporate governance practices in the banking sector though not essential, but will  be given preference

o Candidates with knowledge on new accounting standards and banking products will be an added advantage                           

o Hands-on experience in a computerized accounting/auditing environment                                 

o Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

o Inter-personal skills with ability to work as a team player

â  Age

32  years or below as at the closing date

â  Terms and Conditions

o The probation period will be one (01) year.                                             

o The post will be subject to the general Terms and Conditions of the Bank’s Service, but outside the normal  Banking Stream (Closed Service).

o Upon fulfilling the requirements of the probation period to the satisfaction of the Bank, candidates will be   confirmed in the permanent cadre of the Bank after a probationary period of one (01) year as Chartered  Accountant – Associate Grade III.  

 o Salary scale applicable to the post is

 Rs. 79,740/=  -  Rs. 109,740/= Rs. 1,500/= x 20

(All inclusive approximate initial gross salary with variable cost of living allowance is around Rs. 160,000/-  per month)   

o Should be prepared to serve in any part of the country as per the Bank’s requirement.

o Should be able to work beyond normal working hours and weekends/holidays   o Should be able to travel to any part of the country in a short notice
